Review of PSP 3004 – A versatile Product from Sony

They call it the "slim and light" edition and that PSP Is indeed the size of the PSP is a tad bigger in comparison to the existing competitor products in
the market and that gives this PSP 3004 the "big screen advantage”. Fundamentally intended for gaming, the PSP is the de facto standard of portable gaming consoles. Accordingly it has one of the most ergonomic designs when it comes to positioning and handling of keys.

For storage media, it accepts the UMD (Universal Media Disc) and the Memory Stick Duo both being the Sony's proprietary formats only. As for the UMD there is no problem at all as Sony has ensured that content is available on it. Major studios like Disney have now started releasing movies in the format. But for the Memory Stick Duo, they could have done with at least a couple of alternative (popular) formats like the SD card or the MMC card.

For audio file formats, the PSP accepts MP3s. WMA files and Sony's ATRAC* flies. For video, it accepts only MP4 files. So what you need is only a simple media manager that will organize your flies but also converts the formats for you. You can use Sony's own media manager or any third party file converter like the Total Video Converter which helps convert your video files Into PSP media files

With the drag and drop capability, the transfer of flies was quite easy and fast. A fair amount of discipline is all It needs, so we recommend that users make folders of music, video and photo on the Memory Stick Duo as the player does not recognize data formats on the disc. But once that's sorted and you get onboard, navigating through the media is a hassle-free affair.

The songs are listed linearly on the display. You hit 'Play* and the PSP will just do a neat |ob as a music player. The 3004 does not offer Jazzy features for equalization and playback but it does offer basic EQ modes that are more than sufficient. For instance, the default setting of the EQ mode by itself was fine and accurate, so seldom will you need to toggle the rest of the EQ modes. By fine, we mean accurate and also pleasing sound that is fatigue free and does not stress your ears during and after long music sessions.

As far as video is concerned, the PSP 3004 houses a massive wide screen and watching the movie is more massive an experience (as compared to most other PMPs).

The PSP may not be the best PMP available in the market, and It Isn't meant to be one. But it does not let you down In terms of performance when pitted against any of the PMPs available in the market today. And what makes it a great choice is the fact that it has a surplus of gaming that no other PMP can boast of. Once you have the PSP by your side, you can certainly save that extra 4 to 5K on a dedicated music player.

Review of Sony Ericsson W980 - Music Phone

When you think of music phones the first name comes in your mind is Sony Ericsson. The company is well known for its innovative features and understanding the consumer’s psyche incorporating the features in their products. W 980 is not an exception in their portfolio.
This latest release is trendy in appearance and with a lot of punches in the music but it could not correct the longstanding concern of build quality of Sony Ericsson phones. Their phones are always been a little less robust, and same is the problem with the W980. A few powerful jerks may result in - the flap falling apart from the phone. Beyond this flaw, this phone is packed with lots of features, which will keep you busy and entertained.

W980 being the top of the line music phone, has very clear audio in terms of both stereo and bass effects. Mids and highs are also crisp. Clear Stereo lessen the leakage between the two stereo channels and thereby making up for a more comprehensive and resolved sound experience. Clear bass is a feature is not available in most of the music phones. A huge 8 GB onboard memory will offer you never ending music for your soul.
The onboard speakers are not that great. They faced precision problems when played past 70 percent of the total volume level.


For video, Sony W980 have incorporated a tiny screen (1-inch by 1-Inch approximately) with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Considering the size; this screen does its best while reproducing the vivid colors.

Motion gaming feature is another great experience you will have with this phone. You have to move the phone physically while you play. Suppose you are playing NFS and want to turn the car; you have to move the phone to steer your car!

3.2 megapixel camera with a video recording capability is a great feature too. In the connectivity front is Bluetooth and USB are there at your service but you will miss the Wi-Fi.

While browsing, you will feel that Sony actually knows to make user friendly features. The hot key for the walkman application and a richly organized menu for the whole of media application on the phone is wonderfully user-friendly.

Review of 42LG80FR - LG 42 inch JAZZ:

After going through plenty of research I ultimately found this model has the best value for money. This is the only model where these features are found:

a) This TV has 50000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio; All of its competitors has less.
b) Its response time of 4 ms compared to its competitors 5ms.
c) It can play almost all divX movies from its USB port. Opposed to what is written at many review at different websites; you can FF, REW, Pause the movies.
d) Rediscover your digital photos by the Slide show on the digital screen with a dash of back ground music. (Samsung has this feature too)
e) Sub woofer and 3.1 sound system inbuilt is an awesome feature, which is lacking in all LCD and Plasma TVs
f) Elegantly placed self sliding speakers add to the beauty of its design.

The only difficulty I faced is only 2 HDMI port and difficulty in accessing the rear panel while the TV is set on the wall.

This phone has fast rate of data transfer from your PC. It is Inherently very musical phone indeed. Unlike most of the music phones we get, it lacked the accentuated punch in the low frequencies and the extra shrill in the high frequencies but this made the sound even better. It sounded much more evenhanded and clear with no specific accent on any of the frequencies in the audio spectrum.

The sound output on the onboard speakers, though not crisp and clear was again much more comprehensible. For movies, the video quality is remarkably good quality while the 2.8-inch screen let out a vibrant range of colors and a set contrast which was adequate enough to put out the best achievable dark levels on a screen so small. The battery life is one more aspect where the lnnov8 scores full points. It lasts for a good 36 hrs while you watch movies, listen to music, make phone calls, send messages and play games or, surf the net.

The only problem is the touch-sensor navigation key which went unmanageable almost all the time and took a while to react. But once you put off the touch sensor all function will be ok.
