This media box has been kept to its minimal with absolutely no mess on the front panel; Just a blue/red light with the A.C. Ryan logo on it. All the connectivity options have been kept on the back panel besides the USB ports which have gotten themselves on the side panel, kind of like a computer cabinet. This versatile player has more inputs and outputs than most other media players, from HDMI 1.3. component, composite, optical and coaxial audio out to the USB ports on the side panel. The component and HDMI ports have the ability to output 1080p and there is even 24Hz support to give 24 fps the picture quality it deserves. To get the movies and music onto the hard-disk, all you need to do is hook up one of the USB ports to a PC and watch the Playon HD pop-up on your computer as an external hard-disk. You can also use SD cards or even the RJ45 LAN port on the back panel to hook up to a network or the internet. Speaking of the Internet, the player has great support for all the popular download clients the internet has to offer like BitTorrent and surfing videos on YouTube. These features aren't hidden under a menu hierarchy like other players but rather are given their dedicated shortcut on the very first screen of the OSD.

HD movies play back effortlessly, with sharp pictures and incredible sound effects, be it a movie or a cartoon film! Non HD movies also play superbly. There isn't very much that you can complain about when it comes to the Playon! HD as it comes with everything you could ask for in a media server — smooth playback, immense versatility in playback formats, plenty of Input/output options and a look that's so minimal that it can fit into any living room.
