SIM 2 C3X Lumis DLP Projector – User review

Technology used in the C3X Lumis DLP Projector:

The Lumis comes with a standard 3-chip DLP sensor with outboard projector control electronics module that hooks up SIM2's proprietary H.O.S.T (High-Def Optical Signal Transfer) system via a three line optical-digital connection that can cover a distance of up to 750 feet. You can now have the projector's lamp and lens almost at the end of a movie theatre, while the electronics of it are contained in the wall somewhere behind the screen. All thanks to the clever work of a fibre-optic cable and a loss-less connection.

The projector itself consists of the latest 0.95", 1080p DLP chipsets from Texas Instruments whose next-generation DarkChip4 DLP device brings about a remarkable increase in picture quality with Improved blacks and brightness when hooked up to SIM2's own ALPHAPATH light engine.

HD projection capability of C3X Lumis DLP Projector
This beautiful gadget can bring 1920 x 1080 progressive video to your projector screen at a contrast ratio of 35,000:1 and at a brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens. This projector will do wonders with the upcoming 3-D upscaling Blu-ray players.

Contrast ratio of HD projector from C3X Lumis DLP
With the help of a user-adjustable iris, the Dynamic Black technology and a new dimmable lamp, the C3X can increase the contrast ratio of the picture to even greater than 35,000:1. And light Intensity adjustments are made on a micro-second precision basis so that any iris artifacts that are bound to rise with iris-adjustments will be negated immediately.

Connectivity of C3X Lumis DLP Projector
The C3X contains all the standard connectivity options with not one or two but six HDMI inputs, three HD-capable component in and multiple composite and S-video ports.

Version and price of C3X Lumis DLP Projector
You really can't ask for more from a projector, and all of this comes at a price-tag that will probably only attract the really serious buyers. Its price is based on whether or not you take the long-throw or the short-throw lens — Tl being the short-throw, T2 as the long-throw and T3 being the extra-long throw lens. Now the only thing left to do is get a user review of this beautiful machine.
